During this pandemic, have you lost your motivation, creativity, your perspective? Well let me tell you this, as for myself, this time being on lock down, it seems that I was receiving calls on a daily basis, due to individuals that I knew had passed away from COVID-19. And if I was not careful I could find myself drifting off into the abyss of lossing my motivation, positivity, creativity and yes my peace of mind.
This was the time for me to turn off the TV, stay away from social media and focus on maintaining my motivation, positivity, creativity and yes my peace of mind, I guess you can say I went into survial mode.
It's important to maintain a balance, because once you loose that balance, it can feel like your entire life is going down hill. We all know that these are not what we considered normal times as we once knew. I started to set daily goals for myself to make my day productive, I focused on my small goals first, the things that I had been putting off for the longest time, such as going through my closet and getting rid of everything that I no longer wanted.
Secondly, I carved out time in my day for work and for relaxation, working from home can make it much harder for me because there are so many distractions around me, and yes in my case it can lead to a serious case of overworking, because my mind is going with ideas 24/7. So I placed myself on a schedule yes I did, Monday-Friday 6:00 a.m. til 4:00 p.m. this time I set for myself is when it is the most quite, I'm more productive.
Thirdly, we all know that if your not mentally in the game, your out of the game. Now staying motivated can be impossible when your mind is filled with anxieties about what is going on, that's why it was important for me to establish some type of exercise routine, it is important to me not to forget about my needs and my health, so I had to set-up a routine for myself to get moving, and let me tell you it worked for me. If you are use to going to the gym and working out each day and we know we can no longer do that due to social distancing divise a plan that can work for you, by using simple items around the house.
Lastly, if you have been pondering on the idea of taking your special skills that you may have to make you some extra money on the side, stop pondering and start making plans to do just that, don't sit and say "I wish I could" simply put " You Can", tap into that special talent you have and go for it, you'll find yourself ahead of the game.
Always remember " With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts". Eleanor Roosevelt. You Got This!
